Title: Polarimetric SAR target scattering interpretation and applications

Abstract: Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) achieves a wide range of successful applications in earth observation, including forest study, ocean study, natural disaster investigation damage and so on. This presentation reviews recent advances of PolSAR target scattering interpretation and applications from the innovation team of polarimetric radar imaging and recognition from the National University of Defense Technology. For target scattering modeling and interpretation, the development of the generalized scattering models, general polarimetric target decomposition, and the uniform polarimetric matrix rotation theory will be introduced. For applications, the approaches of man-made target detection, land cover classification, and urban damage investigations will be summarized.
