Please be aware that this is a practical tutorial, during which the attendants will work on actual SAR data by themselves following the guide of the lecturer. It is suggested to bring a laptop computer to the tutorial to make real-time processing. Before attending the tutorial, participants are kindly requested to:
1.Register themselves on the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem by creating a personal account to access ESA Sentinel data free of charge:
https://dataspace.copernicus.eu/ (click on the green icon on the top right)
2.After registration, login, search and download the following Sentinel-1 dataset from the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem:
S1A_IW_SLC__1SDV_20241025T103344_20241025T103414_056258_06E381_D19F
3.Download, according to the operating system of their machine, the free-of-charge ESA Sentinel Application Platform (Sentinel Toolboxes are only needed) to process SAR data. version 8.0.0. Newer SNAP versions (up to 11.0.0) have been released by ESA, but the real-time processing will be made using SNAP version 8.0.0. Please do not apply for updates after the installation:

A brief introduction supported by few slides will be provided at the beginning of the tutorial to discuss the roadmap and the objective of this practical session.
Note that all the above-mentioned steps will be performed in real-time during the tutorial. Continuous interaction with the lecturer is warmly suggested.
Further quantitative analysis of the Sentinel-1 SAR dataset pre-processed with the ESA SNAP software will be performed using the Matlab 2021b environment.
On request, introductory slides and Matlab code can be provided to the participants after the tutorial.
